The 605 Collective’s AUDIBLE will be touring across the Made In BC network during the Fall of 2010. This 11-city tour, a shared bill with Amber Funk Barton, will also include presentations in Whitehorse, Yukon and at The Vancouver East Cultural Centre (The Cultch).
A tour of the Quebec and Atlantic regions is now in works for Spring 2011. All details for dates and cities will be released soon. Please contact 605 for more info…

After premiering 605′s new work, Audible, at Vancouver’s Dancing on the Edge Festival, The Collective will be traveling to Ottawa to take part in the Canada Dance Festival’s off-year event “Hip-Hop 360″. The 605 Collective has been chosen to present Audible alongside performances from two b-boy crews (Bboyizm, F.A.M.) to illustrate how street-based forms are increasingly influencing the contemporary milieu. 605 Artists Shay Kuebler and Josh Martin will be traveling to Ottawa to represent and handful of British Columbian artists at The National Arts Centre’s showcase event “BC Scene”. Shay will be performing a solo with MovEnt’s “Dances For A Small Stage”, and Josh will be dancing in Wen Wei Wang’s Rio Tinto Alcan Award winning “Cock-Pit”. More info available here.

In January 2009, The Collective received a two-week creation residency at Usine-C in Montréal. Now, after a long break, 605 will be returning to this initial material in May/June to complete their first full-length creation as Artists-In-Residence at The Dance Centre, Vancouver. The new work will be performed at this years Dancing On The Edge Festival @ The Firehall Arts Centre, July 2009 (Dates TBA).

Through the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, The 605 Collective has just begun work on a new piece created by Dana Gingras (Holy Body Tattoo, Animals of Distinction). The commission project for five dancers, including guest Amber Funk Barton, will be created over three separate processes both in Vancouver and Montreal. The results of this exciting project will be shown in Fall 2009 in Vancouver. Check back for updates!

The 605 Collective is excited to announce that in the same week, 605 Choreographer Shay Kuebler has won the National “Les Grands Ballets Choreographic Competition” as well as The Holy Body Tattoo’s Emerge Award. Les Grands Ballets will be flying Shay to Montreal in late August where he will be commissioned to choreograph a piece on four of the company’s dancers. The piece will be presented at the end of September 2008 along with the three other chosen choreographers works. (Including Out Innerspace’s Tiffany Tregarthen) Shay’s HBT Emerge Award will be put towards The 605 Collective’s new work to be presented in Spring 2009. (See Press Release) EMERGE Press Release.pdf

Shay Kuebler has begun creating a new work with the award winning Amber Funk Barton for presentation at this season’s Dancing On The Edge Festival taking place July 3rd – 12th. The Collective has been invited to kick off next years season of Dance Allsorts presented by New Works.
