Josh Martin

Josh Martin | Co-Director, Collaborator / Performer

Originally from Alberta, Josh is a diversely trained dance artist who’s career-to-date has led him across North America and Europe, studying and performing in many genres along the way. With an eclectic dance background, he has performed in theatres, clubs, on stages, streets, for film and television and with, recording artists’ music videos and tours. He has worked with many companies and independent choreographers such as Amber Funk Barton (the response.), Martha Carter (MMHop), Day Helesic (MovEnt), Gail Lotenberg (LINK), Karen Jamieson, Dana Gingras, Tiffany Tregarthen and David Raymond (Out Innerspace Dance Theatre), and as a past company member of Le Groupe Dance Lab in Ottawa under the direction of Peter Boneham. Josh is a regular performer/collaborator for Wen Wei Dance, recently contributing to a shared creation with the Beijing Modern Dance Company. Josh now works primarily as Artistic Co-Director of 605 Collective, a collaborative group of dance artists producing new urban/contemporary dance works in a shared process. Off the stage, Josh serves on the Board of Directors of The Dance Centre, and as Chair of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists – BC Chapter. cadabc.org
