Artists

The core artists of The 605 Collective are Lisa Gelley, Shay Kuebler and Josh Martin with associate artists Sasha Kozak and Maiko Miyauchi. (Please see individual bio links to the right.) Each have a comprehensive training history that includes hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, contact improvisation and modern. These artists have also trained in stunt work, Karate, Capoeira, Ukrainian dance, and circus arts. The members of 605 have worked with numerous companies in Canada and independent choreographers including Le Groupe Dance Lab with director Peter Boneham, Wen Wei Wang (Wen Wei Dance), Dana Gingras (The Holy Body Tattoo, AOD), Day Helesic (Movent), Julia Taffe (Aeriosa), Brock Jellison (RUCKUS), Jennifer Mascall (Mascall Dance), Martha Carter (MMhop), Karen Jamieson (KJ Dance), Eric Malapad (Freeform Tribe), Amber Funk Barton (the response.), GOH Ballet and Farley Johansson (Science Friction). They have performed with recording artists across Canada and internationally as well as on screen for feature films and television programs. All of the artists are also experienced teachers in many forms and styles of urban and contemporary dance have taught at studios, schools, workshops and drop-in centers across the globe.
